Buy nothing NEW for a year?

I thought I would post the link to the forum that gave me the idea for this, I am going to try it and see how I get on. http://www.itsnoteasybeinggreen.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2765&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0

The idea is not to buy anything new for a year, not to buy nothing at all! There have to be a few exceptions, food and drink, medicines, things that are necessary for work, the list goes on and can be found on the INEBG forum.

I am going to start today. I will post how I am getting on!
